Welton “Bo” Padgett, 95, died Monday, September 16, 2019 at Holly Springs Senior Center. Bo was native of Rutherford County, and was the son of the late Welton B. and Almedia Bates Padgett. Bo retired as a textile employee, and was an active member of Adaville Baptist Church. Bo and Sue loved to travel with and participate in activities of the Senior Adult ministry at Adaville. At the height of WWII, Bo enlisted in the US Navy, where he served in combat areas on a refueling vessel.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Olen (Mary Alice) Sisk of Asheville; daughter Libby Harris of Forest City; four grandchildren, Mike (Donna) Stephenson, Kim (Steve) Bentley, Alicia (John) Sisk-Morris, Heather (Sam) Murphey, and six great grandchildren, Davis Stephenson, Austin Bentley, Zeke (Anna Kate) Stephenson, Alex Murphey, Carson Morris, and Riley Murphey. In addition to his parents, Bo is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Sue Daniel Padgett, daughter, Saundra Scruggs, and brothers, Paul, Clarence, Willie and Stem Padgett.

Memorial services will be held 2PM Monday, September 23, 2019 at Crowe’s Chapel with Rev. Zeke Stephenson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the service.
